Exploring My Comunity

Our next unit, “Exploring My Community,” will challenge children to learn from the world around them. During the course of this unit, we will explore just a few of the many community helpers that work in our towns and cities. In addition to the helpers we’ve included, please incorporate the careers of the parents/guardians in your program. If at all possible, invite them to visit and talk about what they do. This is a wonderful way to build diversity and family involvement into your program! In addition, if at all possible, try to get “out and about” with the children so they can learn more about their own communities in a hands-on, interactive way.
