Let's Make Music

It is always the right time to get up and get moving! The children will do just that … and more... as you introduce our next unit, “Let’s Make Music.” During this unit, the children will explore different styles of dance and music. In addition, they will be exposed to instruments that are played by strumming, striking, shaking and blowing. The children will be thrilled to show off their latest dance moves and share the music made by their new instruments. If at all possible, have a rhythm band set on hand for this unit. You may be able to borrow one, if you do not have your own, from your local CCR&R resource room. If you can’t locate one, see options for making instruments on p. 32. In addition, if any of the parents/caregivers from your group play a musical instrument or enjoy dancing, be sure to invite them to share their expertise with your group during this unit.
